At Deirdre’s House our goal is that every child victim receives hope, healing, and justice. Children cannot get the justice we promised them when injustice is ignored as in the death of George Floyd. Racism is a deep-rooted pervasive issue that pains and traumatizes our families of color every day. Racism has no place in civil society. Systemic racism, explicit acts of racism and discrimination put children at risk. We stand against racism in any form.

Deirdre’s House was organized and has been maintained as an independent not-for-profit in order to ensure that our doors are always open for children and families regardless of race, color, religion, gender, gender expression, age, national origin, disability, marital status, sexual orientation, military or immigration status. We at Deirdre’s House do not and shall not tolerate discrimination of any kind, at any time, for any reason.

Our staff and Multidisciplinary Team partners are committed to advocating for change and continuing open conversations, so all our children and families of Morris County experience equal access to services, safety, justice, and healing. To do this, we are calling on our partners to hold those in power accountable.

For our Black families and colleagues, we are listening, and we stand with you. We hear your pain and sadness, and we are committed to creating an environment of healing, justice, equality, and unity. We will join in this fight to give our children the justice they deserve.
