Since opening its doors in 1996, Deirdre’s House has provided services to over 34,000 of Morris County’s child victims. The number of children needing the medical, forensic and counseling services that only Deirdre’s House can provide continues to climb each year. By providing vital services to child victims of abuse and/or neglect, our Advocacy Program limits the trauma to child victims and gives them a path forward to recover from the trauma they have suffered. Child victims that receive trauma focused clinical counseling by professionals trained in the techniques for treating trauma victims have a much higher success rate as far as not being re-victimized or engaging in self-harming behaviors.
In 2018, Deirdre’s House had over 2,800 child visits.
